How to request Second Class Relics of Pope John Paul II

The Rome diocesan office charged with promoting the sainthood cause of Pope John Paul II is distributing official, and the only authorized, relics of the Pope. The relic is a small piece of one of the white cassocks worn by the Pope. The free* cards and relics may be requested by letter, fax or email.

* We have since learned that a donation to cover mailing expenses is now requested (this has been confirmed by CNS and Catholic.org). The Rome diocesan office charged with promoting the sainthood cause of Pope John Paul II has exceeded its postage budget because of increased requests for prayer cards and relics of the late pope. An individual prayer card, relic and copy of the cause's magazine, Totus Tuus, could be mailed to the United States for about $5.00

The quickest way now seems to be to send the donation by mail to:

Postulazione Giovanni Paolo II
Vicariato di Roma
Piazza San Giovanni in Laterano 6A
00184
Rome, Italy

Lately, some IPSO readers tell us that they are not getting responses to emails, at least not promptly.
However, the email address is: Postulazione.GiovanniPaoloII@VicariatusUrbis.org

The fax number is: (39-06) 6888-6240

The beatification will be announced on April 2nd, the second anniversary of his death.
