The Life with Ann Archives
I have been a pro-life sidewalk counselor for many years. One day as I stood on the sidewalk outside the abortuary, a young woman approached me. She said, "Excuse me, are you going inside for an abortion?" I told her I offer pro-life alternatives. I had pamphlets with phone numbers where women could get free help. She said she thought I was going to have an abortion and she wanted to warn me not to do it.
She said she had an abortion at this abortuary and she regretted it very much. She said when she entered the room where the procedure would take place she saw a dead baby in a bucket on the floor. Even this sight did not keep her from aborting, but now she would give anything to have her baby back.
If you have had an abortion and need help, call your local pro-life agency, listed in the phone book under abortion alternatives. Most Catholic dioceses offer a retreat called Rachel's Vineyard. Contact your diocese for more information. Everything is confidential. The retreat is open to people of all faiths. Anyone suffering the effects of an abortion and is in need of healing can attend. This includes mothers, fathers, grandparents, siblings, friends, medical personnel and abortion center employees.
God bless you and pray for an end to abortion and for all those who have had abortions.
